Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Bronx peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I've seen two dance recitals two years in a row. Beautiful stage well-managed and clean college. Very close to the four five and two train. I mean like literally a block

Hostos Community College, officially known as Eugenio María de Hostos Community College, was established in 1968 as part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system following strong advocacy from Puerto Rican and Hispanic leaders seeking greater access to higher education in the South Bronx. Named after Puerto Rican educator and human rights advocate Eugenio María de Hostos, the college opened in 1970 as the first bilingual college in the mainland United States. During New York City's fiscal crisis in the mid-1970s, students, faculty, and community members successfully fought to prevent its closure through the “Save Hostos” movement. Today, Hostos serves thousands of students, offering associate degrees, certificate programs, and workforce development opportunities while remaining a vital educational and cultural institution in the South Bronx.

Congratulations to my friends Alberto Lopez and Juan Lopez, co-founders of Calpulli Mexican Dance, on their presentation of MONARCAS at Hostos Community College. Monarcas was an amazing experience at the Hostos Theater—beautifully organized, with producers and dancers who took us on a journey filled with joy, happiness, and deeply moving emotions. In my view, Monarcas showcases the richness of Mexican culture and folklore while also inviting us to dive into history. The performance brings to life themes of the American Dream and Mexican resistance, powerfully expressed on stage. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must. Thank you to the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture for making this experience possible. — Julio

As a new student, my experience with the financial aid office was disappointing. The staff member I interacted with was not very helpful and came across as unapproachable. I left the interaction feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which is discouraging for someone who is just starting their college journey. Front-facing roles, especially in financial aid, are often the first point of contact for students who may already feel overwhelmed. A more supportive and patient approach would make a significant difference in helping students feel confident and guided through the process.

My son and I went today to get him set up for the fall Semester. The school is big and nice. They offer a lot of different classes and offer so much support. Everyone was extremely friendly.
